Bai Xep at a glance

Bai Xep (Bãi Xép) is a small beach framed by dark rocks in the An Chan area. A Vietnam Airlines travel article describes it as part of Tuy Hoa, about 15 km north of the city center, and calls it a fishing village. The grassland and headland next to it, known as Ganh Ong, belong to the same visit.

Most travelers know the place from film. It is a filming location of the 2015 movie by director Victor Vu, "Tôi thấy hoa vàng trên cỏ xanh", released in English as Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass. The green slopes and the small bay in the movie are the reason people look for Bai Xep today.

Phu Yen is the former province that joined Dak Lak province on 1 July 2025. Travelers still use the name Phu Yen for this coast, and the beach is reached from Tuy Hoa.

What the place looks like

The beach is small, and dark rocks stand at both ends and in the water. Swimmers are visible among the rocks in photos, and the evening light lies low across the sand. The film made the nearby green slopes famous, and they are the part that has been fenced off.

The beach

A short strip of sand with rocks around it. Treat swimming as at your own risk. Do not count on lifeguards, and avoid the water in surf.

The grass hill and headland

Known as Ganh Ong. This is the area reported as fenced since September 2024. Respect any barrier you find.

Evening

The light is soft late in the day, but check the return trip first. If you ride a motorbike, avoid riding in the dark without need.
