Ways to reach Tuy Hoa
Tuy Hoa is the gateway to the Phu Yen coast, the former province that is now part of Dak Lak. You can fly into Tuy Hoa Airport (code TBB), take a train on the north-south line or ride a bus or limousine van from Nha Trang or Quy Nhon. The airport lies about 10 km from the center. A taxi from the airport costs about VND 120,000 to 150,000 (about $4.80 to $6) and a motorbike taxi about VND 50,000 to 70,000 (about $2 to $2.80), as travel articles list it for 2026.
This is an independent guide, not run by an airline, railway or authority. Timetables and prices change, so check them with the operator before you book. A different way in is to fly to Nha Trang and continue by train or bus. See the airport guide for Nha Trang.

Flying to Tuy Hoa
Routes, charters and building work.
Scheduled flights
The national tourism board lists flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. A low-cost airline lists Ho Chi Minh City to Tuy Hoa in a promotion for flights from 15 June 2026 to 31 March 2027. That shows the route exists but is not a daily timetable. Offers from other cities are probably connections, not direct flights.
International charter
On 19 October 2026 the charter flight CPV214 flew from Tuy Hoa to Bangkok, as the aviation authority reported on 20 October. One charter is not a scheduled service. Do not plan an international arrival at Tuy Hoa on it.
Works at the airport
An aviation notice lists apron construction from 16 August to 13 December 2026, with temporary closures of taxiway E2 and parts of E1 and E5 and changed taxi routes. Takeoff and landing procedures stay in the notice, and the airport is not generally closed. Ask your airline about changes.
Tours and transfers to the Phu Yen coast
Day trips along the Phu Yen coast and tours that start in Quy Nhon or Nha Trang, with live prices and availability.
By train: the Reunification Express
Tuy Hoa is a stop on the north-south railway.
| Train | From | To | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE8 | Nha Trang, departs 14:03 | Tuy Hoa, arrives 15:51 | 1 h 48 min |
| SE21 | Dieu Tri, departs 14:23 | Tuy Hoa, arrives 16:29 | 2 h 6 min |
| SE21 | Tuy Hoa, departs 16:32 | Nha Trang, arrives 19:18 | 2 h 46 min |
These times come from a private rail operator's timetable valid from 15 May 2026. The operator can change them. Dieu Tri is the station for Quy Nhon, so add a transfer to the city. The operator's product is a luxury carriage, and it is not confirmed that you can book it for a short stretch to Tuy Hoa. Check the regular seats of Vietnam Railways separately, including fares and child rules.
By bus or car
From Nha Trang, a booking site lists about 116 km and an average of 2.3 hours, while another figure on the same site rounds to about 120 km. A limousine van was listed at VND 340,000 (about $13.60) for one seat. That is an example, not a guaranteed fare, and luggage and pickup point change the total. On the southern road toward Nha Trang you meet the Deo Ca and Co Ma pass and tunnel, which the Vung Ro Bay page explains.
From Quy Nhon the figures differ. One page gives 106 km, another 76 km, and a very short travel time that does not fit either. Do not rely on one number. The train to Dieu Tri is an alternative.

Visa and entry rules in 2026
Rules change, so confirm them with your government's travel advice.
Visa-free stays
Citizens of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland can stay up to 45 days without a visa. The day of entry and the day of exit count. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival. The rule runs from 15 March 2025 to 14 March 2028.
E-visa
The national tourism board states that citizens of all countries can apply for an e-visa for up to 90 days with multiple entries. That is different from a visa-free stay. Do not confuse fee pages of agencies with state fees.
Arrival card
Guidance differs. The UK government calls the digital arrival card recommended and not yet mandatory, Germany describes a trial at almost all international airports, and the US advice asks foreign passport holders arriving by air for a declaration up to 3 days before arrival. Check the rule for your passport.
Other rules
Penalties for overstay have risen since 15 December 2025. E-cigarettes and their accessories may not be imported, owned or used.
