Where to base yourself
Tuy Hoa is the practical base for the Phu Yen coast, the former province that is now part of Dak Lak. The city has a beach on its east side, the airport and the railway station, and from here you can reach the basalt rocks, the lighthouse cape and the lagoon on day trips. Smaller coastal stops exist, but this guide does not list homestays for them. A visit to Bai Xep depends on its current access, so do not book around it.
This is an independent guide. It does not run or sell rooms and has no tie to any hotel. The hotels named below come from the operators' own pages and show where on the map a beach hotel can be. They are not recommendations, and no ratings are given. Room prices are not listed here, because they change by date and by room.

Hotels on the Tuy Hoa beach road
Examples of locations, taken from the operators' own pages.
| Hotel | Address given by the operator | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Sala TuyHoa Beach Hotel | 51 Doc Lap, Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak | On the beach road |
| Sala Grand TuyHoa Hotel | 09 Doc Lap, Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak | Same road, different number |
| Stelia Beach Resort | Block C1, Doc Lap Street, Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak | Its site still says Phu Yen in the page title, while the address already says Dak Lak |
The last row shows the effect of the administrative merger on 1 July 2025: the postal address changed, but the name Phu Yen is still used for the area. When you type an address into a map or hand it to a driver, use both the street and the city name.

How to read a location
Words in a listing mean less than the map.
Central is not beachfront
A hotel can be in the center and still be some distance from the sand. Look at the actual address and the pin on a map. Do not treat "central", "beachfront" and "walkable to the market or station" as the same thing.
No private beach by default
A coastal address does not mean a private beach or free access to the sea. Ask what is available if the beach matters to you.
Phu Yen beaches โThe airport and the station
The airport is about 10 km from the center. Ask the hotel whether it arranges a transfer, as this cannot be assumed.
Getting there โDay trips from the city
Ganh Da Dia lies about 30 km north of Tuy Hoa according to a travel site, and Bai Xep about 15 km north of the center according to a travel article. Allow time for the drive, because road times are not fixed.
Ganh Da Dia โWhat to check before you book
A listing often leaves out the details that decide your stay. Ask about breakfast, a transfer, the cancellation rule, a deposit and extra beds for children. None of these can be assumed from a hotel's name or its star rating.
Autumn is the flood season on this coast. The rainy season in central Vietnam is listed as October to December, with floods most likely in October and November. Read the cancellation terms with that in mind, and ask how the property handles heavy rain and flooded roads. Accessibility also differs by building, so ask about steps and lifts if you need them.
If you come from the south, a stay in Nha Trang can be combined with a train ride to Tuy Hoa. Quy Nhon is a second starting point on the north side.

Where to stay in Phu Yen: frequently asked questions
Where is the best place to stay in Phu Yen?
Most visitors base themselves in Tuy Hoa, which has the beach, the airport and the station, and take day trips to the coast. Hotels on the Doc Lap beach road are the closest to the sand.
Are there homestays in Bai Xep?
This guide does not list any. Access to the site is in doubt, so do not plan a stay around it. See the notes on Bai Xep.
How much does a hotel cost?
Prices change by date, room and season, so no range is given here. Compare the final price, with taxes and breakfast, on the booking page.
Is the hotel address in Phu Yen or Dak Lak?
Both names appear. Since 1 July 2025 the postal address reads Dak Lak, while many sites and visitors still say Phu Yen for the coast.
Do hotels arrange airport transfers?
Some may, but it cannot be assumed. Ask before you book. A taxi from the airport is listed at VND 120,000 to 150,000 (about $4.80 to $6) in 2026.
Does this site sell rooms?
No. It is an independent guide with no link to the hotels it names.
